Has USSSA replaced Ron Mathis as Texas State Director? Odom sent an email out saying Frank Griffin (La.) was filling in in the interim. Also, the Texas USSSA has been down or significantly reduced in the last few days. Any info?

No, Ron has not been replaced by USSSA. The latest information is that LA is going to run what USSSA there is in Texas for at least a while, maybe for good.

Meanwhile, Ron Mathis has started a new baseball organization, and most, if not all, of the area directors are going to host tournaments and leagues with this organization (Nations Baseball). This is a nationwide organization that has the same basic premise as USSSA, but the rules are more in line with what we were trying to accomplish and lead the way with in Texas. This organization is affiliated with Cooperstown Dreams Park and will hold World Series events in other places that people will want to visit (rather than small towns in LA) such as Savannah, GA, Louisville, KY. or Denver, CO.

More information will be available over the next few days as the website comes all the way online and we have our state convention. For a preview of the website, go to www.nationsbaseball.com.
